St. Peter's-by-the-Sea Church
St. Peter's-by-the-Sea Church
Partially built with materials collected from the many shipwrecks strewing the archipelago’s shores, the St.-Peters-by-the-Sea Anglican Church is within walking distance of the Old Harry Heritage Space.
It was once used by the inhabitants of the Old Harry village, though it is now desacralized to house a permanent exhibition exploring the peculiar relationship between the Magdalen Islanders and the sea surrounding them
While the water may provide food and transport, it also represents many perils for sailors, leading to many shipwrecks near the archipelago. The exhibition “People of the Sea” evokes this duality through photographs, panels and artifacts.
The exhibition is accessible at all times.
